Course Description

Redundancy can be one of the most stressful workplace experiences for both the employee and employer alike.

The employer is under a legal obligation to follow a lawful redundancy process and should take all steps to be transparent and supportive towards affected workers.

Employers also have to be mindful of the impact of job losses on wider workforce morale.

If an employer fails to follow the law when making someone redundant, the employee may be able to bring a claim for unfair dismissal. If the tribunal finds in favour of the employee, they may be awarded compensation or in some cases, may even be reinstated into their role.
